Blueberry cold foam is one of my favorite ways to turn a simple iced coffee into something that feels like it came straight from a coffee shop.
It has a creamy texture, a light blueberry flavor, and a beautiful pale purple color that looks incredible poured over cold brew, matcha, or an iced latte.

If you’ve already made homemade blueberry syrup, this recipe comes together in just a few minutes.
What I like most about blueberry cold foam is that it adds sweetness and flavor without overwhelming the coffee underneath. The blueberry flavor stays light and fruity while the cream creates that thick, velvety topping that slowly mixes into your drink as you sip.
If you’re looking for a Starbucks-inspired cold foam recipe with a summer twist, this one is easy to make at home and uses just a few ingredients.
Why You’ll Love This Blueberry Cold Foam

One of the best things about this recipe is how versatile it is. You can use it on:
- Cold brew coffee
- Iced coffee
- Iced lattes
- Iced blueberry lattes
- Iced matcha lattes
- Vanilla iced coffee
The blueberry flavor is noticeable without tasting artificial, especially when using homemade blueberry syrup.
The foam is thick enough to float on top of your drink while still being light and creamy.
Ingredients You’ll Need

Heavy Cream
Heavy cream creates the rich texture that makes cold foam thick and fluffy. It helps the foam hold its shape on top of your drink.
Milk
I use 2% milk because it creates a lighter texture while still helping the foam blend smoothly. Whole milk also works well.
Blueberry Syrup
Homemade blueberry syrup gives the best flavor and color. If you’ve already made blueberry syrup, this is one of my favorite ways to use it.

How To Make Blueberry Cold Foam
Step 1: Add the Ingredients
Pour the heavy cream, milk, and blueberry syrup into a small cup or frothing pitcher.
For one serving, add:
- 3 tbsp heavy cream
- 2 tbsp 2% milk
- 1-2 tablespoons blueberry syrup
Step 2: Froth the Mixture

Insert the handheld frother and froth for about 20 to 30 seconds.
The mixture should become thicker and increase in volume. You want it creamy and pourable rather than stiff like whipped cream.
Avoid over-frothing. If the foam becomes too thick, it won’t float properly on top of your coffee.
Step 3: Prepare Your Drink
Fill a glass with ice and prepare your favorite coffee drink.
Some great options include:
- Cold brew
- Iced coffee
- Iced latte
- Vanilla iced coffee
- Blueberry latte
Leave some room at the top for the foam.
Step 4: Add the Foam

Slowly pour the blueberry cold foam over the top of your drink.
The foam should float above the coffee, creating a beautiful layered effect.
Step 5: Enjoy
Drink immediately while the foam is fresh and fluffy.
As you sip, the blueberry cream gradually blends into the coffee, creating a smooth and slightly fruity flavor throughout the drink.
Tips For The Best Blueberry Cold Foam

Here’s how to get the best blueberry cold foam every time:
- Use Cold Ingredients: Cold cream and milk froth much better than ingredients at room temperature. I usually keep everything refrigerated until I’m ready to make the foam.
- Don’t Skip The Heavy Cream: Using only milk won’t create the same thick texture. The heavy cream is what gives cold foam its signature richness.
- Adjust The Sweetness: If you like sweeter coffee drinks, add an extra tablespoon of blueberry syrup. For a lighter flavor, reduce the syrup slightly.
- Froth Just Until Thick: The goal is cold foam, not whipped cream. Once the mixture becomes creamy and fluffy, stop frothing.
Best Drinks To Pair With Blueberry Cold Foam
Iced Blueberry Latte
This is probably my favorite pairing.
The blueberry flavor in the foam complements the blueberry syrup in the latte and creates a coffee shop-style drink that’s easy to make at home.
Cold Brew

The bold flavor of cold brew balances the sweetness of the blueberry foam beautifully.

How to Store Blueberry Cold Foam

Blueberry cold foam is best enjoyed immediately after frothing.
If you have leftover foam, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
Before using again, froth it briefly to restore some of its texture.
Keep in mind that freshly made foam always produces the best results.

FAQ
Can I Make Blueberry Cold Foam Without Heavy Cream?
You can try using half-and-half, but the foam won’t be as thick or creamy. Heavy cream produces the closest result to Starbucks-style cold foam.
Can I Use Store-Bought Blueberry Syrup?
Yes. Homemade blueberry syrup typically provides the best flavor, but store-bought syrup works too.
Can I Make A Larger Blueberry Cold Foam Batch?
Absolutely. Simply double or triple the ingredients if you’re serving multiple drinks.
Why Isn’t My Foam Thickening?
Make sure your ingredients are cold and that you’re using heavy cream. Low-fat milk alone won’t create the same texture.
