Equipment

  • hand frother

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp 2% milk
  • 1 tbsp toasted marshmallow syrup

Instructions

  • Add the heavy cream, 2% milk, and toasted marshmallow syrup to a tall glass, measuring cup, or frothing pitcher.
  • Use a handheld milk frother to froth the mixture for approximately 20 to 40 seconds. Move the frother gently through the mixture until the cold foam has increased in volume and is thick and creamy.
  • Fill a serving glass with ice and add cold brew, iced coffee, or your favorite iced espresso drink.
  • Slowly pour or spoon the toasted marshmallow cold foam over the top of the coffee.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy the drink through the creamy cold foam layer.

Notes

  • Keep all ingredients refrigerated until you are ready to make the cold foam. Cold dairy ingredients produce the best texture.
  • Do not over-froth the mixture. Stop when it is thick but still pourable.
  • If the cold foam becomes too thick, stir in a small splash of milk.
  • Adjust the amount of toasted marshmallow syrup according to the sweetness and concentration of your syrup.
  • Store leftover cold foam in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Froth it briefly again before serving.
  • For a s’mores-inspired drink, serve the foam over toasted marshmallow cold brew and finish with chocolate drizzle and graham cracker crumbs.
