- 2 cups strawberries hulled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp lemon juice optional
Wash and hull the strawberries, then slice them.
Add strawberries, sugar, and water to a saucepan.
Heat over medium heat until gently simmering.
Reduce the heat and simmer for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Stir in lemon juice and simmer 1–2 more minutes.
Remove from heat and strain through a fine mesh sieve.
Let cool, then transfer to a jar and refrigerate.
