Ingredients

Brown Sugar Cold Foam

  • 2 tbsp light brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp warm milk
  • ½ cup cold whole milk
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract optional

Cold Brew

  • 1 cup cold brew coffee
  • 1-2 tsp brown sugar syrup
  • ice cubes

Instructions

  • Make the brown sugar syrup if you don't already have it.
  • In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and warm milk for the foam and stir until dissolved.
  • Make the brown sugar cold foam. Add cold milk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt, then froth until thick and airy.
  • Fill a tall glass with ice.
  • Pour cold brew coffee over the ice.
  • Stir in 1–2 teaspoons brown sugar syrup.
  • Spoon or pour the brown sugar cold foam over the coffee.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon on top if desired and serve immediately

Notes

  • Start with 1 teaspoon of brown sugar syrup and add more if you prefer a sweeter drink. The foam already contains brown sugar, so a little syrup goes a long way.
  • The brown sugar cold foam recipe makes enough for about 2 drinks. Store any leftover foam in the refrigerator and re-froth briefly before using.
  • For a stronger drink, use coffee ice cubes instead of regular ice so the coffee doesn’t become diluted.
  • Oat milk can be used instead of dairy milk for a dairy-free brown sugar cold foam, though the texture may be slightly lighter.
  • Store leftover brown sugar syrup in the refrigerator for up to one week in a sealed container.
