Nutella whipped coffee was one of those recipes I had to try because I couldn’t stop thinking about how good Nutella and whipped coffee would taste together.

Regular dalgona coffee already has that fluffy texture, but adding Nutella takes it in a completely different direction. The chocolate hazelnut flavor mixes into the milk and foam and makes every sip taste richer and more dessert-like.

I like that this recipe still uses simple ingredients you probably already have at home. You do not need any fancy equipment either, just a whisk or hand mixer and a few minutes.

If you like iced coffee drinks that feel a little extra without being complicated, this Nutella dalgona coffee is a good one to make.

It tastes like something from a coffee shop, especially with cold milk underneath all that whipped Nutella coffee foam.

Why This Nutella Dalgona Is Worth Making

What makes this version stand out is the combination of textures. You get that airy foam on top, but with a richer flavor thanks to the Nutella.

It’s not just sweet. It has that hazelnut depth that makes it feel more like a treat than just coffee.

Another thing I like is how customizable it is. You can make it stronger, sweeter, or even skip the coffee part entirely if you want more of a dessert drink.

It also looks really good in a glass, which matters if you’re taking photos or just want something that feels a bit extra at home

How to Make Nutella Whipped Coffee

Step 1: Gather your ingredients

You only need a few simple ingredients, and they’re all easy to adjust depending on how strong or sweet you like your drink.

You’ll need:

  • 1–2 teaspoons instant coffee
  • 1–2 tablespoons Nutella
  • 1 cup milk (any kind works)
  • Ice (for iced version)

Step 2: Whip the Coffee

Dissolve instant coffee in a small amount of hot water (about 2–3 tablespoons). Stir until fully dissolved.

Then use a frother or a hand mixer and whip the coffee.

You’ll know you’re done when the mixture becomes lighter in color or peaks start to form.

This step is simple, but it matters. You want your coffee smooth before mixing it into the milk so everything blends evenly later.

Step 3: Melt the Nutella into the milk

This is the step that really makes the drink work.

Add the Nutella into the milk and stir until it completely melts and becomes smooth.

If your Nutella is thick, you can use a frother to dissolve it completely.

Pro tip: Heat all the milk and stir in the Nutella directly. It melts much easier this way.

Step 4: Combine everything

Pour your coffee into the Nutella milk and stir.

At this point, the drink should look smooth and evenly mixed, with no streaks or separation.

Taste it and adjust if needed. You can add a little more Nutella for sweetness or a bit more coffee if you want it stronger.

Step 5: Serve it hot or iced

For an iced version, fill a glass with ice and pour the drink over it.

For a hot version, just pour it into your favorite mug and you’re done.

You can leave it as is, or add extras like whipped cream or a light drizzle of Nutella on top if you want it to feel more like a treat.

Nutella Dalgona Tips

Warming a small portion of milk before adding Nutella is the easiest way to avoid clumps. If you try to mix Nutella straight into cold milk, it takes much longer and never turns out quite as smooth.

If you like a stronger coffee flavor, espresso works better than instant coffee. It gives the drink a deeper taste that balances the sweetness.

You can also adjust the milk depending on what you like. Whole milk makes it creamier, while almond or oat milk keeps it lighter but still works really well.

Nutella Whipped Coffee Variations

If you want to switch things up, there are a few easy ways to change this drink.

One option is to add the Nutella directly into the hot coffee instead of the milk.

It creates a slightly stronger, more coffee-forward flavor. Just keep in mind it won’t be as creamy unless you still add milk afterward.

You can also add a splash of vanilla extract for a softer flavor or a bit of cocoa powder if you want it more chocolatey.

For something more dessert-like, drizzle Nutella along the inside of the glass before pouring in the drink. It looks nice and adds extra flavor without changing the base recipe too much.

How to Store Leftovers

This drink is best made fresh, but if you have leftovers, you can keep it in the fridge for up to a day.

Just give it a good stir before drinking, since the ingredients can settle slightly over time.

If you’re making it ahead, I’d recommend storing the coffee and Nutella milk separately and combining them when you’re ready to drink.

More Nutella Coffee Recipes to Try

If you liked this drink, I also have a few other Nutella coffee recipes worth trying.

iced nutella latte recipe

Nutella latte is a little richer and feels more like a coffee shop drink, especially when made hot.

It has a smoother texture and stronger espresso flavor, so it’s a good option when you want something that tastes closer to a mocha-style latte but still keeps that chocolate hazelnut flavor.

nutella cold foam recipe

I also make a Nutella cold foam that works really well on iced coffee and cold brew.

It’s lighter than this recipe but still creamy, and the Nutella flavor comes through surprisingly well.

I like adding it on top of cold brew when I want something sweet without making a full latte.

If you already have Nutella at home, both recipes are easy to make and use a lot of the same ingredients.

Equipment

  • 1 frother or hand mixer

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp instant coffee
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp hot water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1-2 tbsp Nutella
  • ice for the iced version

Instructions

  • Combine instant coffee, sugar, and hot water.
  • Whisk using a hand whisk or mixer until the mixture becomes thick and fluffy.
  • Add the Nutella to the milk and stir or froth until fully dissolved. You can heat the milk to help Nutella dissolve faster.
  • Fill a glass with ice and pour in milk and Nutella mixture (or heat milk for a hot version).
  • Spoon the whipped coffee mixture on top of the milk and Nutella.
  • Stir before drinking to combine all the flavors.

Notes

  • Use instant coffee only for the proper whipped texture.
  • Warm the Nutella slightly if it’s too thick to mix.
  • Adjust sweetness by using less Nutella or switching milk types.
  • Add espresso to the milk for a stronger coffee flavor.
  • Best enjoyed immediately, but the whipped mixture can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
