Equipment

  • Handheld milk frother or blender

Ingredients

  • 2 shots espresso
  • 1 tbsp pumpkin puree
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ice

Optional Toppings

  • Pumpkin Cream Cold Foam
  • Whipped cream
  • pumpkin pie spice

Instructions

  • Brew two shots of espresso and let them cool slightly.
  • Add the pumpkin puree, maple syrup, vanilla extract, pumpkin pie spice, and about ¼ cup of the milk to a tall cup. Froth until smooth. Alternatively, blend the pumpkin puree, maple syrup, vanilla extract, pumpkin pie spice, and the full amount of milk until smooth.
  • Fill a tall glass with ice.
  • Pour the pumpkin mixture over the ice.
  • Add the espresso and stir until well combined.
  • Top with pumpkin cream cold foam or whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use plain pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling.
  • Whole milk creates the creamiest texture, but any milk works well.
  • Adjust the maple syrup to make the drink sweeter if desired.
  • A handheld milk frother creates a smooth texture without needing a blender.
  • For a stronger coffee flavor, use three shots of espresso.
  • Top with pumpkin cold foam instead of whipped cream for another delicious variation.
