- 1 tsp matcha powder
- 1 Earl Grey tea bag or 1 tsp loose-leaf Earl Grey
- ½ cup hot water for steeping tea
- 2 tbsp hot water for matcha
- ½ to ¾ cup milk of choice
- 1 tsp sweetener vanilla syrup, honey, or sugar

Steep the Earl Grey. Add the tea to ½ cup hot water and let it steep for at least 5 minutes. Then remove the bag or strain, and chill the tea.
Make the matcha. Sift 1 tsp matcha powder into a bowl. Add 2 tbsp hot water (175°F) and whisk until smooth and frothy.
Prepare your glass. Fill a tall glass with ice and pour in the milk and sweetener. Stir to combine.
Layer your drink. Pour in the chilled Earl Grey tea, then slowly pour the whisked matcha on top.
Enjoy. Stir if you want, or sip through the layers.
