Ingredients
  

  • 1-2 tsp matcha powder
  • ¼ cup hot water not boiling
  • 1-2 tbsp hazelnut syrup
  • ¾ cup milk
  • ice optional, for iced version
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract optional

Instructions
 

  • Sift the matcha powder into a small bowl or mug to remove clumps.
  • Pour hot water over the matcha.
  • Whisk in a zigzag motion until smooth and lightly foamy.
  • Heat or froth the milk if making a hot latte. Keep cold for iced.
  • Stir hazelnut syrup into the matcha mixture.
  • Add vanilla extract if using.
  • Pour matcha into the milk.
  • Add ice if making the iced version.
  • Taste and adjust the sweetness or milk as needed. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a stronger matcha flavor, use 2 teaspoons of powder.
  • For a lighter drink, reduce the syrup to 1 tablespoon.
  • Oat milk and soy milk give the creamiest texture.
  • Store leftover matcha powder tightly sealed in the fridge.
  • This recipe can easily be doubled for two servings.
