If you’ve ever wished your coffee tasted like your favorite candy bar, this Snickers latte is one of those recipes you’ll keep coming back to.
Instead of trying to recreate the flavor with syrups alone, I melt an actual Snickers into warm milk, and it completely changes the drink.

You get real chocolate, caramel, and that slight peanut flavor all in one step, without overthinking it. The result is rich, slightly sweet, and closer to a dessert than a regular latte.
I still like having a simple version with syrups for busy days, so I included that as a variation later. But if you want the version that really stands out, melting the candy bar is what makes this recipe different.
Why This Snickers Latte Works
I’ve tried a few versions of this, and the biggest difference always comes down to using the actual candy bar.
When you melt a Snickers into milk:
- the chocolate blends in smoothly
- the caramel adds sweetness without needing extra syrup
- the peanuts give a subtle nutty flavor that’s hard to fake
It ends up tasting more balanced than just adding chocolate and caramel separately.
You don’t get that overly sugary, artificial flavor. Instead, it feels like a proper drink you’d order somewhere, not something thrown together.
Note: Now that you know how to make a Snickers latte, you can easily turn this into any candy-inspired drink. Try a Mars version for extra caramel, or a Twix latte with that biscuit note.
Once you get the method down, it’s easy to experiment with whatever you have on hand.
Snickers Latte Ingredients

For 1 serving:
- 1–2 shots espresso
- 1 cup milk (any kind works)
- 1 regular-size Snickers bar, chopped
- ice (for iced version, optional)
Optional toppings:
- whipped cream
- caramel drizzle
- chocolate syrup
How to Make Snickers Latte
Step 1: Chop the Snickers
Start by chopping the Snickers bar into small pieces.
This step matters more than it seems. Smaller pieces melt faster and more evenly, especially because of the caramel and peanuts.
If you leave large chunks, they can sit at the bottom instead of fully blending into the milk.
Step 2: Heat the milk and melt the chocolate
Add the milk and chopped Snickers to a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir constantly as it warms up.
You don’t want the milk to boil, just heat enough to melt everything smoothly.
After a few minutes, the chocolate will melt first, and the caramel will soften and blend in.
Note that peanuts may not fully dissolve (that’s normal).
Pro tip: If needed, use a spoon or small whisk to help break everything down.
Step 3: Strain (optional)
If you want a smoother latte, strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer.
This removes any leftover peanut pieces and gives you that café-style texture.
I usually do this if I’m serving it hot, but sometimes skip it for iced versions.
Step 4: Brew the espresso

Prepare 1–2 shots of espresso using your machine or coffee maker.
If you don’t have espresso, strong brewed coffee works too. Just make it more concentrated than usual so the drink doesn’t taste diluted.
Step 5: Combine everything

Pour the espresso into your cup, then add the melted Snickers milk.
Stir gently to combine.
For an iced version:
- fill a glass with ice
- pour espresso over the ice
- add the Snickers milk on top
Step 6: Add toppings (optional)

You can leave it as is, but toppings make it feel more like a treat.
Some easy options:
- whipped cream
- caramel drizzle
- chocolate syrup
I don’t always add them since the drink is already rich, but they do make it look better, especially for photos.
Snickers Latte Tips
One thing I noticed is that heat control matters a lot here. If the milk gets too hot, the chocolate can thicken too much, and the caramel can stick instead of blending smoothly.
Stirring constantly keeps everything even and prevents burning at the bottom. If the mixture looks too thick, you can add a splash of milk to loosen it.
Also, using whole milk gives the creamiest result, but I’ve tried it with oat milk and it still works well. Almond milk is okay too, though the flavor changes slightly.
Variations to try

If you don’t always have a Snickers on hand, there are easier ways to get a similar flavor.
Syrup version (quick alternative)
Use:
- 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup
- 1 tablespoon caramel syrup
- 1 teaspoon peanut butter
Add these to your milk before combining with espresso.
It’s faster and still gives that chocolate-caramel-peanut combo, just a bit less rich than the melted version.
Iced Snickers latte
Make the recipe as written, then pour it over ice.
This is probably the version I make most often. It still has that dessert-like flavor but feels lighter and easier to drink.
Extra peanut flavor
If you want to lean more into the peanut side, add ½ teaspoon of peanut butter.
Mix it into the warm milk while melting the Snickers. It makes the drink slightly thicker and more nutty.

How to store leftovers
This drink is best fresh, but you can store the melted Snickers milk in the fridge for up to 2 days.
Before using it again:
- reheat gently on the stove or microwave
- stir well to recombine everything
The texture may thicken slightly in the fridge, so adding a splash of milk helps bring it back.
